Hi My son had the same procedure at about 2 years old. He snored really badly and was always dribbling. The dr also said that he was using a lot of energy on just breathing due to the size of the tonsils. After the op the snoring stopped (unless he had a really bad cold).
We went into the hospital 1st thing in the morning. He was 1st on the surgery list due to his age. The operation didnt take long, he was back in recovery within about 30 mins. I think the worse bit was when he actually went to sleep because it is so quick and it can be a little shocking how they just drop off! We stayed in the hospital for 1 night and as soon as he had eaten some cornflakes and toast they let us go home.
I would recommend the op as my son has been so much better since. He is now 6 years old and no longer snores like an old grandad!!
