Hi My husband chose a few names I didn't like originally (he wanted to call my little girl Poppy but I wasn't too keen on it so we settled on Pippa) and with this new one we went on a baby name site and just went through all of them and eventually settled on a boys name and a girls. So I would recommend just sitting him down and showing him the list and telling him your not too keen with the names he chose and to look at the names on the list x

I looked on a website that had people on there telling you what it was like growing up eg if they were picked on at school for having that name. so have a look and see if the name is on there that your partner wants and see what it says he will change his mind if it is bad.

Kelly your post really tickled me but I know its not funny! This is just one of the problems we face as a mother! when I left my boyfriend with a name book, pad & pen (when we were expecting our first) he had things like shakira & britney - neither of which are really that bad but he seemed to have a thing for singers! He's asked if we can name this baby after him which Ive said no to! Its not about calling rank - its about comprimise! Like I want to name the baby after my nan if its a girl, he's not playing ball at the moment, but hopefully this is nothing a bit of gentle persuasion wont change! Good luck to everyone, Marie x
