Hi my daughter is 2 and I have just recently started her potty training since she tells me to change her nappy and whips off a wet one asking me to change her. She has done several wees and a poo on the home potty but when I took her to nursery, she refused point blank to use it there and was even not bothered when she wet herself. I am sure she is ready but am trying to get her to understand that she can wee on a potty or on the toilet whereever she is. I know it's early days but has any parent out there had this kind of issue and how did yours overcome it?

Hi you could try taking her potty from home to nursery with you and show her that its in the bathroom ready for when she wants a wee. Some children are abit funny about different pottys. Hope this helps xxx

Hi Hannah, after I posted my messsage yesterday, I did exactly that and gave the keycarer some stickers for her to decorate it everytime she used it, it worked, however she did have a few accidents but I think she is slowly getting there. Bless her, we are going on holiday next week and she chose the wrong time to be trained, oh well, she is getting used to the potette at home now and hopefully she will make progress by the time we go on our hols the end of next week. Hi Hannah, Thanks for your message. Can't believe her luck at the moment, no accidents at nursery today. Could this be the calm before the storm??!! Can't help being cynical but she has really taken to going on the potty all by herself, she is now asking to go! She is used to her travel potty which she uses downstairs, so hopefully things will go smoothly so to speak when we are away although I do pack her change bag every day as if to expect accidents. So will see how long it takes for her then to show interest in using the toilet .
