Get his dad to use the toilet infront of him, so he wants to copy daddy. Then get him a step to stand on, it may be a bit messy at first, but boys naturally want to stand up when they wee...this is maybe why your son doesn't want to sit on the potty. Get him to be a 'grown up like daddy' reward him with something he likes doing in the bathroom...brushing teeth, playing witht he water a little bit longer when he washes his hands, pressing the flusher etc. He might just stand on the step for the first few times, till he gets confident. Another great trick is to draw a smiley face on a ping pong ball and put it in the toilet to aim at!! Hope this helps

Try reading his favourite book to him while he sits on the potty, also give him a bubble wand while you hold the bubble mixture. The action of him blowing out bubbles relaxes his muscles and hopefully will take his mind off it. Got that idea from a Mum on Huggies a few years ago and it worked for my son who then suffered from chronic constipation brought on by withholding his bowel movements. Good luck.
