Hi, my little girl is 23 months, I have a v.small bathroom too and instead of a potty I have a child toilet seat that goes on top of my own toilet and a little step (I did try with a potty, but it seem to send mix messages, she would sit in the bathroom on a potty next to the toilet, when all she had ever seem me do was sit on the toilet).
My little girl prefers this than the potty, she was wary at first, mainly due to wobbling, but after a few goes she knows how to sit right. We have a pile of books to read at the same time (me now using the step as a seat!) and when she does go, she thinks her reward is to get to pull off the toilet paper, press the button (flush) and then use 'mummys' soap to wash her hands, using the step/seat to reach the sink, she now gets the step and seat ready herself.
My little girl mastered telling me about needing a poo before a wee, so don't worry if your little one hasn't got the conecpt of pooing yet, they all do it different.
Hope this helps :-)
