baby reflux
01/09/2008

Hi everyone. I joined this website when I was pregnant but not logged on for a while. Hannah is now 8 months and doing great apart from constantly throwing up. The doctor has given me gavisgon sachets to put in her bottles and said it was reflux but she is still been sick and bringing up alot of mucus. Just wondering if anyone has similar problems with their little ones, also she is not putting on much weight.Look forward to hearing from ye. sharon, chloe 6 and Hannah 8months.xxx

Hi Sharon, my daughter is 7 months now but she had reflux when she was born. She would only take 2 oz of milk and as soon as she finished it it was straight back up again. I took her to hospital and she was admitted to paediactrics where they put her on two oral medicenes (Domperidome,Ranitidine) and gaviscon for the milk. She did ok for awhile but like your little 1 she wasn't putting on ne weight in fact her weight was going down, so i took her back to her consultant at paeds and he put her on Infatrini milk, it has more calories than normal milk and it's thicker. She started putting weight on straight a way and now she is a healthy 13lbs. She is no longer on Gaviscon or the other medicenes, and she is back on her normal milk.

hi, i had this problem when when i changed my little girl from the breast to bottle, the hv told me to try different milk i.e. easy digest and staydown none of this worked so the doctor then gave her gaviscon but this didn't work either. so i choose to put her on soya baby milk which has changed it all together she still throws up but not to the extent she did before and she's lots happier now. i don't know if u've already considered this but i hope i've helped xxx

Hi Traci, thanks for replying. I've changed Hannah from SMA to cow and gate comfort on instructions of HV but it still not mad any difference. HV said that should keep her on gavisgon and things should be better once she is walking(but not convinced). Will give the Soya milk a try. Thanks. Sharon.x
